  Who We Are

 For the past seven years Fitness For Living has been energizing adults with its fun, challenging and at times wacky Fitness Boot Camps. Our goal is to help motivate, educate, support and encourage adults to get fit, get outdoors and get active!

Each year we read all of the comments and feedback that we receive from our campers and continually improve our program. We are so confident that you will love our Boot Camps and that you will find that we have exceeded your expectations that we .(available for most camp locations - follow the preceding link for details). Last year we didn't have anyone take us up on our guarantee and we hope to continue our perfect record.

Your Trainers

Each of our trainers are certified Personal Trainers, but more importantly, they love what they do and are committed to having each Boot Camp participant have their expectations not just met - but exceeded.

They love instructing, and enjoy the challenge of creating inspiring classes that will push you to your limit in fun and rewarding ways. Equally important, they are great listeners and they want to hear how camp is going for you and how they can make your experience even better.

David Clair - Fitness For Living Director & Trainer
  David is a certified Personal Trainer, a licensed USA Cycling coach and a certified Kickbox Instructor and indoor Spinning Instructor. For over seven years he has taught at several Boulder-area health clubs. David started leading Outdoor Fitness Boot Camps in 2003 and truly enjoys the group dynamics and mutual support that naturally occur during camp. Prior to working in the fitness industry, he operated Roads Less Traveled for 10 years, an adventure travel company specializing in weeklong biking, hiking and multi-sport trips throughout western North America and abroad.

David participates in most outdoor activities and over the past twenty-five years has competed in bicycle races, running races and triathlons.

His philosophy on fitness and life is simple – Make it Fun! If it is not fun you won’t do it; you’ll always have an internal struggle staying motivated – whether it is work or play.

Linzee Klinkenberg - Trainer
 

Linzee, a Colorado native, is a certified Personal Trainer with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. As an experienced yoga, pilates, spinning and group exercise instructor, she is best known for her positive spirit, intrinsic understanding of movement and ever challenging workouts.  Her personal training clients range from senior citizens to Olympic athletes, stay-at-home moms to the President of Washington Mutual Bank.  Linzee brings her creativity, focus on injury prevention, diverse training methods and passion for fitness into all her athletic adventures.  Her greatest love is time spent with her husband and three young children.

Linzee is also a professional dancer and has worked with such companies as Spectrum Dance Theatre, Helander and Co., Interweave Dance Theatre and Boulder's local 40 Women Over 40.   Her teaching credentials include Modern, Ballet and Jazz Dance instruction.


“ I really want to take this time to say how great a trainer Linzee is! I am in my 2nd session and plan on doing this the whole summer mostly because of her. Other trainers or coaches I've had in the past cannot compare to Linzee. She has the perfect mix of tough love, motivation, and friendliness. She takes the time to focus and guide each one of us, and it's like she has eyes in the back of her head because you can't slack off when you think she's not watching because she will catch you! She pushes each one of us to work past the point we would have given up on our own. Plus she is funny which also makes Boot Camp more enjoyable!!

Terri Garden - Trainer
 

You will find Terri cheering on our M/W/F Scott Carpenter morning Boot Campers this season. Over the past 12 years, Terri has done it all in the fitness industry and we are honored to have her as part of the FFL team.

Terri is certified in Personal Training, Group Training and Spinning. Continually looking to broaden her teaching regimen, she has taken courses in: One on One Partner Training, Innovative Drills For Small Group Training, Metabolic Training Sequencing Strategies, Metabolic Protocols, TRX Suspension Training, Body Weight Training, Progression Periodization for Power and Boot Camp. Name it, Terri has taught it!

Terri has competed in marathons and sprint and Olympic distance triathlons. She raced in college for BYU’s ski team, competing all 4 years in Slalom and Giant Slalom and has coached kids in ski racing, track and soccer. Above all, Terri excels at working with adults of all abilities and is extremely passionate about health, fitness and helping people to achieve their very best!

As long as Terri keeps teaching boot camp, I will probably keep signing up because it is exactly what I need.

Terri has pushed us to work hard without pressuring us to work beyond our fitness level.  She challenges us to learn our own intensity levels and work within and beyond those, without making the class competitive.  The exercises allow us to always get the most out of them without having to wait for others or feel like others are waiting for us.
The great thing is that Terri suggests modifications for exercises depending on your current ability level and things are done according to time. So, everyone works at their own ability level.




Heath Croll - Trainer
 

Heath has successfully trained adults and young athletes in a boot camp style workouts for over 10 years.  He holds a B.S. in Heath and Physical Education as well as a minor in coaching.  Currently, Heath is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist.  Additionally, via the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA), he obtained certification as a Youth Conditioning Specialist.  Heath believes in helping people of all ages find their inner athletes.  Outside of the fitness world, Heath enjoys numerous outdoor adventures such as hiking, kayaking, and backpacking.

Heath has an amazing ability to alter the exercises to each person. Whatever each person's level or challenges, he's constantly making (seemingly seamless) adjustments to keep them at what is challenging, but safe. I really recommend Boot Camp to folks who want coaching to become stronger, at any level!.


Sarah Schutzendorf - Trainer
 

Sarah is a certified ACE Personal trainer and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. She has been teaching Boot Camps for several years and also mixes it up instructing kickboxing, spinning, ski conditioning, and weight training classes.

Sarah enjoys training hard and reaching goals; she has competed in several running races and now has her focus on participating in triathlons.  Sarah loves helping people realize they can achieve their goals if they just put their minds to it.
