Setting Goals - The Key to Achieving Success

We all have many desires but do we really make these desires a reality?

The key to making change and achieving results is to set specific & measurable goals. A benchmark that is not vague like 'I want to lose weight' or 'run faster' but rather - 'I want to lose 5 pounds by September 1' or 'I want to run a 10K race in 45 minutes by October 31'.

Everyone is motivated differently but almost universal is the necessity
to set a goal for yourself. At Fitness For Living we ask participants to create 5 week, 3 month and 1 year goals for themselves. Something that really jazzes them, gets them excited... something that they secretly know that they have wanted for a while but haven't taken the steps to make this dream a reality.

These goals can be used to improve any aspect of one's life - family, health and career.

One of our goals at Fitness For Living is to help inspire each of you, so here is challenge for you. Have you wanted to run a 10K race or participate in a century bike ride... or perhaps it is a half marathon that has alluded you. We have picked out three events that are 7-9 weeks away that you might consider registering for. Just by registering for one of these events is enough to get the ball rolling and make a mental shift to start training for them. And if you start TODAY you won't have an excuse that you don't have enough time to get ready.

So here are a few events to consider:
Neder-Nederland 5k & 10k Running Race - September 10

Buffalo Bicycle Classic - September 10        Five different distances from 13-100 miles
Boulder Backroads - September 24       Half & Full Marathon

Final Thoughts:
Everyone knows that cross training is an extremely effective way to achieve full body fitness and reduce the risk of injury or risk of over training in just one ‘sport.' Our next camp sessions are ideally timed for you to increase your strength, cardio and endurance during our five week sessions and get a jump-start on the goal you have set.
